Is their an "Air in Cabin" Air Filter ,on a 1998 pontiac grand prix?

1998 pontiac grand prix. 3.1 v6 -152,000 miles.

...my wife smokes inside our car, it really smells. bad! especially with the air cond on. i heard that their is a %26quot;cabin air%26quot; filter that none ever bothers to replace.

is this true? could a novice change it out or remove/clean/ replace it? how easy or hard is it to access and remove/ clean replace that filter? part costs?$$ plus%26gt; labor cost$$

by replacing it, will it remove the smoke smell from inside my car while the a.c. is on? with ac on- smells terrible, like stale ciggrettes order.

there isnt one in your car but you can put one in there is a spot under the passenger side cowell. go to this site and look for how to chagne one on a buick regal. It is the same thing. I have a 99 grand prix and I put one in mine. You can buy a filter at auto zone they carry the Bosch line which I think is the best. This is a bosch site that tells you the part numbers and show colored pictures along with instructions on how to change them. You should be able to get one for around $20.

read the owners manual it will let u know. as far as the smell from cigarrettes changing the filter is not gonna help because cigarettes leave a residue that now is covering the inside of your car. my suggestion is shampoo the inside of your car, air fresheners and if your wife insists upon smoking in the car have her at least roll the window down and in the winter at least crack the window. put your foot down!!!!!Is their an %26quot;Air in Cabin%26quot; Air Filter ,on a 1998 pontiac grand prix?
Well, I had tried to look up to see if and where its located. I can guess and say it might be an option, as these are fairly new tech wise for these years. Anyway, a couple of spots that it could be located, could be under the passenger side dash.(recommend a flshlight to see better), or under the hood on the passenger side of the car. According to alldatapro.com, it could be done in 15 minutes. So it most likely could be similar to an air filter look, but it would be a HEPA kind. Hope this helps somewhat. Just remeber, if you can't find it, it might not have been in your car, as an option from the factory.
